Damon Point

While it may not be the stereotypical beach experience you had in mind, you should still give Damon Point a visit. More of a hiking point and prime location to view wildlife, Damon Point leads you along the North Beach area of Washington’s Pacific Coast. On sunny days, you’ll have a marvelous view of Mount Rainier. Also, the bird watching scene is incredible, so make sure to bring your binoculars with you.

North Jetty

For grassy dunes and a historical jetty, head to Ocean Shores Beach’s North Jetty. The actual Ocean Shores Beach is more of a motor beach, and therefore flocked with motorized vehicles, which more or less inhibits the beach-going experience. However, you can still thoroughly enjoy parts of Ocean Shore Beach by heading down to the North Jetty. It took nine years to build but they finished the jetty in 1916, and it has withheld the test of time. The North Jetty helped stabilize the Ocean Shores shoreline and has resulted in subsequent beach build up over the last century. You’ll also have access to shallow shorelines, which are excellent for dipping your toes in the water. Or, you can watch the humongous waves crash onshores safely from the top of the jetty.
