You can make copies of a CD or DVD and the information it contains. To do so, use Disk Utility to create a copy, or “disk image,” of the disc, and then burn that image to another disc.

To burn a disc, you need an optical drive in your computer or connected directly to your computer. You can’t burn a disc using a remote optical drive.

For more information about duplicating a CD or DVD, open Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder) and choose Help > Disk Utility Help.
